The Course
Thursdays at 2:30 pm
September 10, 2026 - May 20, 2027
This course is designed for advanced students of Latin. Students will grow comfortable reading and translating large sections of the Latin New Testament. Throughout the week each student will work independently on their translations. Once per week we will meet online as a class to review translation work and begin new work, discussing any confusing vocabulary and grammar along the way. Students will be aided in their translations by the vocabulary and grammar notes provided on each page of the textbook. Students’ vocabulary will also grow with weekly quizzes. At the end of the year students will participate in a concluding capstone project that is presented to the class.
Grade Level: High School
How it works:
Group Translations
Every week we will meet together as a class to work on translations together. We will discuss grammar and vocabulary as we read through each passage of Scripture.
Independent Work
Each week students will work independently to continue translating through their passage of Scripture. Weekly Vocabulary quizzes will also be completed during this time.
Capstone Project
Students will complete a capstone project that they will then showcase to the class at the end of the year.

Hi, I'm your instructor,
Kyle Brown
I have a deep love and appreciation for the Latin language and Roman history, and I've been blessed with the opportunity to teach these classes in a variety of settings. I've taught Latin to all types of students, from middle schoolers to graduate students and everything in between. As a classical homeschooling father, I also know how important it is to provide your children with the best quality education you can. That's why I'm offering these courses. It's my goal to help bridge the gap for parents who want to offer their children the best Classical Education they can, but perhaps don't have a strong Latin background themselves. Parents, I'm here to tell you: it is possible! And I'm happy to help provide the solution. With you, the homeschooling parent, in mind I've designed these courses to be the perfect balance of flexible and hands-on. God bless.
